WELCOME

The Association came into being in October 2004.

Membership of the Association is open to all retired employees and retired former employees of the University, in all categories, including semi-retired employees. Joint membership with spouse or partner is also available at no extra cost.

(Associate membership is open to those who have retired from a university other than Exeter and are resident in Exeter. Associate members may participate in any of the activities of the Association but may not hold office or vote at General Meetings. Please indicate on the Membership form if you wish to apply for this type of membership.)

If you are renewing your Membership, please use the form on the Renewal link.

The University of Exeter Retired Staff Association ('UERSA') is committed to protecting the data it holds of its members, working in accordance with relevant data protection legislation. Members' data is used solely for UERSA activities. This policy document (a pdf file) explains how UERSA processes and uses the personal data it collects.

Various general social events take place throughout the year, including a Coffee Morning on the last Tuesday of most months. There are also a number of Special Interest Groups who organize more specific activities.

Currently the Association's membership includes very few retired members of staff based in Cornwall as its activities tend to be focused on the Exeter area and its Devon surroundings. However, special group outings do take members from time to time into Cornwall and UERSA would welcome an interest from potential Cornwall colleagues in extending its activities in the Duchy.

For contacts and further information, please follow the links on the left.

What's New

There is now a policy document explaining our obligations under the new data protection legislation. See the information above.

The September Newsletter (no.43) has been circulated. This editon includes a subscription renewal form for the year 2018/19. Please note that in order to comply with the recently introduced General Data Protection Regulations you are required to consent to your contact data being held by the Association. So it is vital that if you are renewing your membership you do return the completed renewal form, at the latest by 1st December.

A PDF copy of the Newsletter can be downloaded here, and if you require a seperate copy of the renewal form (in DOC format) you can download it on this link.

This year's Annual General Meeting was held on Friday 5th October, in LT1 The Queen's Building. A total of 38 Members attended. The Executive Committee page has been updated to show the Committee Officers and Members for 2018/19, as approved at the AGM. The Minutes have been posted on the Newsletters and Archives page - this document is subject to approval at the next AGM.

We currently have two vacancies for Committee Members, and would welcome volunteers to fill these posts. We hold four committee meetings a year on Campus, each meeting lasting about one hour. If you feel you could participate please contact any committee member.

Coffee Mornings are held on the last Tuesday of most months, from 10:00 to 12:00 at The Imperial in New North Road. They are very informal (not to mention noisy on occasion) and an average of around 30 members attend.  A reminder about parking charges: If you pay for parking and show your 'parking receipt' this amount will be refunded at the bar on your purchase of coffees, etc.
